Here are the questions most often asked of us. We've tried to be as thorough as possible giving you the answers here. If there is something we didn't cover, a Testing Center technician is on duty 9am - 9pm Eastern time, 7 days a week and will respond as quickly as possible to any email sent HERE. Please do not change the subject line so the email will be sure to get through our spam filter and we will give it prompt attention. Thanks!

#1 What happens after I enroll online?: You will need to register your information into our testing center, then sign in and start your testing. You will receive an email from us with the subject line "Promotional Testing Receipt - Important Information from PoliceCareer.com on how to Register Your Information into our Testing Center." This email may be blocked by department and other email servers. If not received, be sure to check your spam folder. If it is not there after an hour, email us HERE we will get you another copy ASAP, please be sure to send us an alternate email address to get by any server who is blocking us, a Gmail or Yahoo address is best.

It is very important that you take a few minutes and read through the email and understand how to register. The email will have a link with further information, and then a link where you enter information into our testing center so you can begin to take exams. Simply, you need to register with your real First Last or First Middle Last name (2 or 3 words, so we recognize you), your email, your password, and an Authorization Code.

#2 where is my "authorization code" i need to register?: The Authorization Code will be highlighted and easy to find in the email we spoke about above, the one we send you with registration instructions. Note it is NOT any kind of approval code or number from your PayPal or eProcessing receipt. Look for this line toward the top in your email; The Authorization Code to enroll in your course is ...

#3 I paid but am having trouble registering, can you help?: First make sure you have our detailed instruction email we mention in #1 and #2 above. You will need this, not just your PayPal or eProcessing receipt. Look in your spam folder. If it's not there, emai us HERE we will get you another copy ASAP. Please be sure to send us an alternate email address to get by any server who is blocking us, a Gmail or Yahoo address is best.

Follow along with the instructions, and remember you have to register with a First Last name, or a First Middle Last name, with no alias or nicknames. You need to enter your own private password, then enter it again for verification, then enter your Authorization Code from your email. That's all you need to do and you can start your testing. Common mistakes: Using an alias instead of your First Last, or First Middle Last name, entering the wrong Authorization Code, the password and the password confirmation you enter must match exactly, and you may have forgotten the @ in your email address.

#4 Are the police textbooks included in the price for the promotion course?: No, unfortunately we wouldn't be able to also include the textbooks for 49.95. The textbooks are furnished by you or your agency, links to buy them are on our site if you don't already have them. HERE is a list of every item that is included in our Promotional Testing Course, including the textbook exams, in-basket, LEPTAD and the Assessment Center and Resume Writing ebooks and the audio interview files.

#5 can i take a free online exam first before i sign up for the course?: You can take a real online promotion exam within the next few minutes by signing up for our newsletter. After you sign up, you'll receive the link and login information in your email. There is no charge or obligation and you can unsubscribe any time. All your information is private.

#6 I forgot my user name and password, and/or for some reason i can't sign on.: Check the course screen, be sure you are not trying to log in to the Sample Course or one of the other courses by mistake. HERE is the link to the Promotion Testing Course. Please save this page to your bookmarks or desktop.

Be sure to use your First Last name, or First Middle Last, exactly how you registered, and be sure your password is entered correctly - Your user name, your password, and your email are all Case SEnsiTive - so John Williams is NOT the same as JOHN WILLIAMS. Password 123 is NOT the same as PASSworD123 and John@JOHNwilliams.COM is NOT the same as John@JohnWilliams.com.

If you still cannot remember how you registered, enter your email into the box on the screen and press SUBMIT and and the system will email you the course link, user name and password on your account. If that is still not working, you will need to email us.

#7 How do I change my password or email?: To prevent anyone from hijacking your account, all changes are made through the Testing Center technician, so we know you are really one of our clients. Email us HERE with your information and what you need changed and we will take care of it for you.

#8 do you ship books to me? isn't everything online and downloaded? why does it ask for my home address when placing an order?: Nothing is shipped, everything is via registering in the online course or us sending you PDF or other files. PayPal and eProcessing are required to have on file your address for verification of the charge.

#9 do you offer flash cards with the questions so i can study away from the computer or with someone else? can i buy them separately without buying the online membership?: Yes. We understand clients may be in a hurry, or may want to study with firends or a spouse, so we offer Flash Card Sets you can download and study. There are Flash Cards for all of our promotion exams, containing all of the questions from the online test, and also for Assessment Center scenario, role-playing, leaderless group and in-basket exercises. They can be purchased separately from our online testing system. We suggest Flash Cards if you are in a hurry (less than a week until test date) and our online exams and Flash Cards together if you have the time and have someone else to study with. #10 how will the charge appear on paypal or my credit card statement?: Depending on the card, your charge should appear as PoliceCareer.com or Police Promotion Services or Police Career Promotion Services. PayPal is listed as Paul Patti PoliceCareer.com.

#11 My email test results are not coming through, what can i do?: So our test results get through your email server's spam filters, you will need to enter these addresses into your allowed email list or address book: admin@policecareer.webtestingcenter.com and TestingCenter@PoliceCareer.com.

The best email address for you to use to get our test results without delay is a gmail or a yahoo address. Send your gmail or yahoo address to our technician HERE and we will set it up to mail your test results to that address.

#13 Can I have a custom exam made?: Yes, these are available to our testing members at an extra charge. You can have shorter exams made, or combine material from two or more books to create one exam that will closely match your department testing. Please note that the questions are drawn at random from the testing bank, and we cannot exclude by chapter or subject matter. #15 What browsers or devices can I take exams on? Can I use my Android or iPhone device?: You can take our online promotion exams on any Windows or Apple system, or iPad, iPhone, or Android device, or any device running an updated Safari, Opera, Firefox, Chrome or IE 7+ browser. You will need to disable popup blocking on some browsers in order to have the test question and test results window appear after you log in.
